What’s Peel going to do with the growth that is coming?

Learn the plans at public meetings next week

Peel is growing by half a million.

Want to find out more? Attend a Peel event, says the region.

According to a release sent out this week, the Region of Peel’s government is expecting 500,000 new residents and 250,000 new jobs by 2041, numbers that will see the region likely eclipse two million people and one million jobs.

To offer their residents the opportunity to learn more, and ask questions, the region is hosting a series of open houses in Peel’s three municipalities next week, as well as a formal public meeting on Feb. 22.

To educate the public on the plan moving forward, the region will have details of the draft growth management regional official plan amendment, the draft transportation regional official plan amendment, the water and wastewater master plan and the long range transportation plan.

Caledon residents can attend the Caledon open house at the Royal Ambassador on Feb. 13 from four to eight p.m. A presentation will be conducted at 6:30 p.m.

The official public meeting will be held Feb. 22 in the Region of Peel council chambers on the fifth floor of 10 Peel Centre Drive in Brampton.
